A Dance with the Man in Uniform

I love to listen to music when I'm driving. If I'm in traffic and the music is really good, I'll even let go of the wheel for a bit and dance. šŸ’ƒšŸ¾

This evening while I drove and danced to 70s hits, I had a flashback of that time some years ago when I met a handsome soldier in traffic along Mandela Highway. I was dancing and minding my business with the music really loud when I noticed the car beside mine was pacing evenly. I looked across and there he was, beret and all, dancing away. šŸ˜

Our eyes locked and we began to laugh hysterically. We had a full-on conversation driving side by side, because of course due to the beret and such, I had turned down the radio. šŸ¤£ Soon afterwards a request was made for my number, and guess what we did? We inched the two cars as closely as possible so he could take my business card. Never mind that we coulda lick up. šŸ˜€

Later that night when we spoke, he said my energy had caught his eye because I looked so full of life. Music sorta does that to me even when I've had a long day. By now you're wondering what happened next. He was married! So, nothing happened.

He actually shared with me that he cheated with one person, his wife found out and it put a strain on the marriage but he was working on it. Yet, here he was with the lady he saw dancing in traffic about to risk it all again. Men! Jah know! šŸ™†šŸ½ā€ā™€ļøšŸ¤£

We stayed in touch for a while and we haven't spoken in a couple years. But it certainly goes down as one of my most interesting encounters with men. šŸ¤”#MyJamaicanMen #StoryTime

P.S. Congratulations to newly appointed Chief of Defence Staff Rear Admiral Antonette Wemyss-Gorman, the first female head of the Jamaica Defence Force (JDF). Also, happy retirement to former Chief of Defence Staff, Lieutenant General Rocky Meade who taught me several courses in my Master's of English Language at the University of the West Indies (UWI). He is a brilliant lecturer.
